Principal has announced the following updates for new and renewing dental business:

California dental rates have been reduced on average 12% effective July 1, 2020.
Dental and vision rate passes have been extended until April 2021.
COVID-19 dental premium credit¹ of 10% for the months of June-October 2020 (based on the prior month’s billed premium²) to employers who have a fully insured dental policy (both contributory and voluntary) with Principal. Broker compensation will not be impacted.
Real-time API integration with Ease for all Principal products.
Voluntary participation requirements waived for all products – only 3 lives per product needed to enroll. Many Principal competitors require the greater of 10 lives or 20% of the eligible group.
eBenefits Edge Promotion – the PEPM will be waived for 12 months when a 2-year contract is signed. Available on a first come first served basis in 2020.
