4% Two-Year Rate Reduction

Delta Dental has announced a 4% rate reduction for all new and existing Small Business Program clients. Best of all, the rate reduction will be effective for two years starting in 2022. Existing Small Business Program groups will receive the rate reduction with their scheduled 2022 renewal or upon their 2022 anniversary date. What's more, rate reductions have also been made to voluntary plans.

SFHCSO 2022 Updates and Reminders

Now is a good time to update your clients about their 2022 obligations under the San Francisco Health Care Security Ordinance (HCSO). The HCSO applies to employers with San Francisco based employees, not just employers based in San Francisco. The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted many employees to change where they live. Employers may want to double-check their HCSO obligations.

Under the HCSO, employers must spend a minimum amount on health care for their San Francisco employees. As of January 1, 2022, the rates are as follows:

• $3.30 per hour for employers with 100 or more workers worldwide.
• $2.20 per hour for employers with 20-99 workers worldwide.

Employer reporting under the HCSO is required for the calendar year 2021. (Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, employer HCSO annual reporting requirements were waived for calendar years 2019 and 2020. Employers were still required to comply with all other aspects of the HCSO).
